Founded in 1929 by Richard Koret, as a designer, manufacture and distributor of handbags. By 1935 Koret was one of the leading style authorities. Known for creating luxury handbags at a low cost. For example $28 in 1955, with inflation that same bag would cost over $200. Koret produced bags for Louis Vuitton, and other handbag marketers. During the 1950s Koret was also the licensee for three of the world's most famous houses of the time, Christian Dior, Hubert Givenchy, and Pierre Cardin.
